Antonio was throwing himself about with zero effect asking to be sent off.
Had we had at least one other striker like any other team does Antonio would have come off earlier and not been sent off, might have even snatched the win.
But apparently there are no strikers on the planet who we could have signed last 2 years.

Antonio’s first yellow was harsh, but he should have contained his understandable frustration. The second was just stupid, considering he knew he was already on a yellow, and he agreed, judging by the way he tapped his forehead as he trudged off the pitch. It was unlike him, and is his first sending off that I know of.

I couldn't get a ticket for the away section of the Northam so bought one in the other (home) section and kept my head down.
I thought that stand was positively rocking at times with the noise generated from both sets of fans far removed from our own bowl with no soul (although Leicester was pretty special)
Yarmalenko always seems to come on and sky one over when in a good position or could afford another touch.
I thiught Bowen was the pick going forward and was also quite impressed with Vlasic when he came on.
There subs seemed to have more impact though and troubled with there pace
Dawson worries me and think he is average at best.

Our worse game in a very long time at retaining the ball.
Misplaced passes galore and as Moyes said Friday was the first time he got all the players back from the International break.
We looked knackered and I can't help but think we should be playing on Sundays after International matches.

Jack - Or in short, it's a reality check. I made the mistake last week of thinking we were going to roll Palace over, so content with the point. We still have a way to go before we can turn up up gaffs like The Dell, or whatever it's called now, and expect to turn them over.

I wasn't expecting a win, I was hoping for a better performance though.

Was just a shit match from both teams, with no quality what so ever.

Both will be grateful for the point I reckon.

Let's hope that was our worst performance of the season and the new signings start to come in and make a difference
I thought Vlasic did ok on his debut and held the ball well
The rest of the team except Bowen, who never stopped trying, and Coufal, looked leggy and tired
It's hard to remember a premiership game of so many misplaced passes. Benrahma was easily our chief culprit and should have been replaced much sooner
Antonio was well off the pace. Obviously his pointless trip to Jamaica and back had taken its toll
If we had signed a half decent striker in the window I'm sure Antonio would have been the first to be subbed. Their impressive Albanian lad came on and nearly changed the game for them. Their motm for me. His turn of pace left Oggy chasing shadows
Disappointing result but a point at least
It shows how far we've come in the last few years that we were all expecting a win down there rather than a draw, but disappointed with our performance more than the score

Sounds like great fun Alwaysaniron.

nychammer 12:33 Sun Sep 12, yes we struggled with those late breaks when we had so many players committed forward. I thought Dawson handled it better than Ogbonna, who looked very dodgy being the last man. Coufal handles it well and is faster than both our CBs, but I guess we want him going forward. Would definitely like to see how Zouma would handle those situations. I think either Dawson or Ogbonna should be rested on Thursday.

Well it was youngest first away game. Not a classic by any stretch. However the support ‘as usual’ was brilliant. Sat amongst a crowd of younger fans (20-30’s I’d guess). Welcomed my boy to the away fans amd said they’d ‘keep the swearing down a bit’. Then immediately (in proper West Ham fashion) called out to the Saints fans calling them all “Fucking wanking Shitcunts” classic.

My lad had a ball. Favourite question from him during the game was… “Dad, why are we Bastards” (in reference to Chim Chimeny song) bloke next to us pissed himself.laughing. “We Just son, we Just are”

Dawson had one of his best games. I’ll score him 3/10. 2 decent long passes. 4 if you include the ones to the Southampton supporters. Hard to pick them out with the empty seats around them.

Correct...
Taking us for fools if we believe Moyes' excuses for not getting a striker signed...

As has been said before there is no excuse at all for not bringing in a forward, it just can't be justified or explained in any logical way. It's bit us in the arse already, Antonio was done, if we had a forward on the bench he would have come off, that's come off. not sent off. It's simply fucking absurd. As for the Ukrainian..

Re: ⚽ Southampton v West Ham - Official Match Thread
If the players are as leggy as they looked today then we’re fucked as they go in to Thursday Sunday Thursday Sunday plus Carabao till December.

I’m hoping it’s because we’re a momentum team, keeping the same core 11 or 12 and the break and new signings caused us to become a bit disjointed.

Good to see Moyes getting a chant and the GSBOUT flags at the end too.

Although if he genuinely believes we didn’t need at least a backup central striker then he can fuck off as well to be honest as that’s basic stuff that has inevitably bit us on the arse ahead of a big game.

“ Our inability to take the ball deep and cross did my nut in today.”

Yes it got better after Benrahama went off. Watching him run down blind alleys and misplace pass after pass was frustrating indeed

Re: ⚽ Southampton v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Good point - could easily have lost that game and hanging on a bit at the end.
Thought Rice, Antonio and Soucek looked leggy, centre backs played Antonio very well and his frustration led to his sending off.
Vlasic good in flashes, Benrhama back to last season’s standard, flashy and lightweight

Not at our best but still got a point, dissapointing in some respects but we are still unbeaten.

Interesting to see what Moyes does against Man U? Could see Yarma start or could Vlsic been given the chance, he has played as a CF, Zouma will come in for Dawson as well.

Not 100% sure, Antonio can play the mid week game in the Europa? Pretty sure its the ManU game he misses.

Great to be in a stadium that felt like a football stadium. Close to the pitch and built for football. Although they couldn’t fill it. Lots of areas empty.
